SEMA 2023: Shell Performance Unbound and Silver Lot

The Silver Lot outside of the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center is always host to a live action arena at the SEMA Show.

This year it was sort of split into two parts. There was Shell Performance Unbound on the northern side of Silver Lot, which we’ll be covering today, and the Hoonigan Burnyard to the south which we’ll be covering soon.

Shell themselves had quite a big booth set up with some interactive bits and a few race cars on display.

The RTR Vehicles drift team were putting on demonstrations and passenger runs throughout the week. The RTR Spec 2 road car and Chelsea DeNofa’s Formula Drift car were showcased at the Monday Night Reveal which you can read about here: https://motorsportformentalhealth.com/2023/11/07/sema-monday-night-reveal/?fbclid=IwAR2wZAEPormXuFhBUiI8emLmffWvYALAOr3igxJ23tL5nrpVvSJQJEUxCoY

The RTR affiliated brand Fun-Haver also had a large merch stall and and some of the Broncos used for their off-road racing exploits.

There were a couple more off-road racing trucks dotted about.

Along with plenty of show trucks! Fusion bumpers had a huge display of trucks.

Justine Wolf’s of Wolf Customs latest creation. If you happen to be in the North Carolina area and need some custom work done on your truck then give Wolf Customs a call!

JTX Forged were the next booth along and also had a nice display of trucks.

I love the ‘Oil Money’ grill on this truck. the exhaust coming up through the hood looks good too. I’m guessing it’s diesel so under load it looks like a steam train coming down the road!

A few more of the trucks on show.

Madelyn Logie/First Gen Barbie’s new build.

This was my favourite of the trucks. I love the rear steer feature and the massive mud bogger tyres. Check out the length of those shock absorbers too!

The thing that blows my mind about this sort of build in the U.S is that it’s wearing a licence plate. It can be driven on the public road!

I’d written a brilliant rant about the “Nanny State” in the U.K and government overreach but I decided to delete it as I don’t want to make this too political. Lets just say that organisations like SEMA who can lobby government officials to protect the interests of automotive enthusiasts are massively important for keeping this hobby alive. Support them where you can!

I also love this little kart thing with a similar chassis set up!

Another build that really caught my eye was this vintage fire truck on the Mother’s Polish booth.

The rest of the Mothers stand had a red theme going.

Meguiars also had a stand outside. Dustin Williams’ Subaru was also featured in the Monday Night Reveal. I put a link to that article with Chelsea DeNofa’s Mustang if you’d like to read it (scroll up).

Summit Racing have a number of brick and mortar stores across the U.S. I’d love to visit one some day! It looks like a car person’s paradise!

On their stand they had a top fuel drag racing engine.

This beautiful ’57 Chevrolet.

The “Big Red Camaro” which has been used in land speed racing, drag racing, circuit racing, hill climb. They love a challenge!

There were a lot of American metal in the Shell Ultimate Performance area.

The Charger from the original The Fast and The Furious.

This drag set up Charger was stunning!

Some more modern muscle cars to spice things up.

Two vehicles I’d like to end on. One is the Benny Custom Works Toyota Cresta drag car from Mighty Car Mods. I love that YouTube channel so it was nice to finally see one of the cars from the show in person.

The other is this old tractor. I must admit I know nothing about it but it was wonderful. It’s also a great example of things that you don’t expect to see at SEMA.
