The Modern Cars of Salon Prive London 2024

As well as hosting the ‘Concours de Vente’ – a competition of elegance for classic cars for sale – Salon Prive London is an excellent opportunity for manufacturers too show off their latest creations to potential buyers.

In this thread we’ll be looking to see what the automotive manufacturers brought to the show, along with some of the other shopping experiences that were present.

We’ll start with McLaren, who had this beautiful exposed carbon bodied Senna as the centrepiece for their stand.

The Artura plug in hybrid in Flux Green which I believe was the launch colour for this car.

The 750S. Apparently the last McLaren to be solely powered by an internal combustion engine.

The new GTS. The GTS is a bit little bit more of a long distance grand tourer than the typical McLaren. It has a bit more space and some more creature comforts. I reckon this would be an ideal car for the Gumball 3000!

Aston Martin’s new Vantage is absolutely beautiful!

As is its’ bigger brother the DB12.

The DBX I’m still not sold on, but I’m not a fan of SUVs from any marque, so that’s more of a me problem than an it problem.

Valkyrie is 100% my thing! I absolutely love the Valkyrie project – it’s a sublime piece of engineering and I think it looks stunning to boot! It’s always a pleasure to see one in person.

I went on the Thursday which celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 911 Turbo. On the Friday they had 14 of them on display! Sadly I was working at my day job, so didn’t get to see it.

Lotus brought along the Emira sports car and the Eletre SUV.

Rolls Royce had two Spectres and a Ghost. I didn’t manage to get a picture of the Ghost astheir stand was really busy throughout the day. The Spectre is the car I prefer of the two anyway. It’s so incredibly elegant!

Range Rover had a stand. These really aren’t my thing but I know they’re very popular and some of you guys might like them.

MG brought along their new electric sports car the Cyberster. I know it’s electric and I know that MG is Chinese owned now, but I still think it’s really cool to see a new sports car wearing the MG branding! It’s a good looking thing too! Apparently it will be about £50,000 which is honestly cheaper than I was expecting!

Topcars of Sheffield, who are the UK’s dealership for the tuning house Brabus were showing a few cars. I know Brabus build incredible Mercedes but I had no idea they worked with other brands too. In this gathering was a Porsche and a Range Rover.

Porsche themselves had a small stand too.

The Swedish brand Polestar, owned by Volvo, create a range of interesting electric cars.

Maserati’s MC20 is a beautiful little car. I think if I had a big lottery win one would find its’ way into my garage.

My first time seeing the M189 generation Granturismo!

I think this may have also been my first time seeing the Grecale in person too.

Now we get to my favourite part of covering this show – the hypercars! I know we’ve already seen Valkyrie from Aston Martin, but Pagani of London were showing this incredible Huayra roadster in the blog’s colours red and gold!

Horatio Pagani is an absolute wizard of design. All three of his main designs Zonda, Huayra and Utopia are all simply masterpieces more akin to art than cars. It’s always a pleasure to see his work.

SuperVettura – the UK’s Koenigsegg distributor – had a lovely trio of cars on display.

Firstly we have the one off Agera N. Only the second Agera I’ve ever seen in person. The first was the green one which was at both the London Concours and Salon Prive back in 2022:

The Regera is an unusual car. It’s got a single fixed gear so will go from 0-250(ish)mph in one gear. 85 in total were built.

Finally we have the Jesko.

Two versions of the Jesko are being built: Absolut which is a top speed focused car and Attack which is track focused.

Whilst I loved the Absolut I really didn’t like the Attack. In pictures the wing just looked silly and, in my opinion, spoilt the car.

However, in person, and possibly in this dark colour scheme, I think the Attack looks very impressive! It has won me over!

Outside of cars there were also helicopters and boats for sale.

There were also a fair few motorbikes! I’m afraid I’m not particularly knowledgeable on motorbikes. They’re something I’d like to explore more in the future though!

One of the motorcycle dealers, Krazy Horse, also had a pair of Microlino bubble cars.

On Microlino’s website it says that there is space inside for two people and 3 crates of beer. It will do 228km (141 miles) on a charge and has a top speed of 55mph. A perfect little toy for charging about the city!

Outside of things for sale – the supercar club Auto Vivendi had a stand. I’ve been following this club on social media for a while now. They offer a wide range of cars for club members to use, have club houses across the country and do lots of events with the cars. It looks like a good thing to be a part of!

Here is their Ferrari SF90, Maserati MC20 and Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato.

Finally we have Racing Heroes. Racing Heroes are a GT4 team composed of disabled veterans from drivers to pit crew and mechanics. Their ultimate goal is to race at the 24 Hours of LeMans.

Thanks for reading! I have a couple more posts coming up from Salon Prive. If you would like to see them, please consider subscribing to the blog via email (from the box at the bottom of the page).
