The Wildcards class at the London Concours is sort of free-for-all class for the cars that deserve to be displayed but don’t necessarily fit into the other classes.
This is one of just 5 right hand drive Citroen CX25 Prestige Turbo 2s. The Prestige is the extended wheelbase version of the CX.
I’ve never owned a French car, but Citroen’s pre-millennial top of the line flagship models have always appealed to me – the CX like this one, the earlier DS and the later XM all have such wonderful character. Hopefully it’s an itch I get to scratch one day!
Ferrari’s F355. Lovely car! I do enjoy a Ferrari in an understated colour. I know Rosso Corsa is iconic but this Blu Le Mans is very regal!
BMW 2002 with a Karosserie Baur targa roof conversion. This one has been with the same owner since 1980.
The Lancia Delta S4 homologation special Lancia’s Group B rally monster that was campaigned right at the end of that era.
It was really cool to see with the clam shells opened!
A Mach 1 Mustang:
A Corvette Sting Ray with the 427cuin big block V8.
Finally, my favourite car of the class was this little Sunbeam Alpine with a Harrington fast back roof. Apparently 110 were built and 26 are believed to have survived.
It was simply a charming little car. I can’t exactly explain it, it’s just one of those things that brings a smile to the face.
