Hi everyone!
Well I suppose you’re wondering who I am and why you are staring at your computer screen reading this. I’d better introduce myself then before you go back to cat videos and scrolling through your facebook news feed!
My names Richard, I’m 22 years old, I live in Essex in the United Kingdom (No I’m not reem and I’ve never been to the Sugar Hut) and I’ve been struggling with my mental health since I was 11 and have been into this strange sport called drifting since I was 16.
The former is why I started this blog. I’ve had a bit of a roller coaster of a couple of years. After falling very ill in January 2013 I quit my day job and set up my graphics business (facebook.com/rfrancisgarager like and share xoxo) I was making tonnes of progress growing the business and using drifting as an advertising base. Then in January (I hate that month) 2015 I fell very ill again . Got out of that and have been thinking about how I can use drifting as a platform to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and how to help people who don’t suffer understand how to help those who do suffer!
After spamming my poor facebook friends list with articles and opinions and stories and plastering my cars in Samaritans livery to help raise awareness for them… Well car, the livery is on my RC car my big car got smashed up before I could get the livery on. I decided that I should start a blog documenting my recovery, my progression with drifting and how the two seem to be constantly helping each other! I’ve been thinking about this for a while but a rainy Monday afternoon seemed like the perfect time to start so this will be something that is published every Monday, if it isn’t then please feel free to shout at me 😀
Much love! Hope you enjoyed reading and I will speak to you next week!
