FMS FCX24 First Impressions

Hello everyone! Bit more of a quick, informal post today.

My Dad recently brought this FMS FCX24 Dodge Power Wagon.

It’s a 1/24 scale RC crawler and it’s been brilliant fun right out the box. It drives superbly, has a lovely slow speed crawl and has tackled every obstacle we’ve asked it to. For its size it’s really capable and a lot of fun!

It also has a two speed gearbox, so you can pop it in high gear to cover ground more quickly.

It’s been so good for him that he’s happy with it as it came out of the box, he has no current plans on upgrading it.

I obviously had to get one as well, so I opted for the K5 Blazer in black:

It’s a lovely truck! The body is really nicely done and it would make a nice model to just sit on the shelf, that’s not why I brought it.

The first adventure was a little trip to the wasteland opposite where I work. It was amazing on the more compacted dirt but did struggle for grip climbing the looser stuff.

At home I built a little course too. The beauty of 1/24 is it’s small, so you can pretty much build a course anywhere out of anything.

We made a bit more of a complex course at my Dad’s. 99% of the time it keeps up with the Power Wagon. The Power Wagon has different wheels and tyres though which seem a bit grippier.

Overall I’m really happy with it, but I have ordered some different wheels and tyres and some brass outer portal covers for the front axle to get the nose weight up a bit.

Once those bits come in I’ll do a little installation guide!
