Hi guys,
So today we have a bit of a weird one.
the other night whilst stumbling through the depths of YouTube I found a video of a De Havilland Puss Moth racing the famous LNER locomotive Flying Scotsman and Mr J W Shillan of the British Motor Boat Manufacturing Co in a vessel named Miss Elto Rytecraft 1. The race would be run for three miles down a section of the River Ouse in Yorkshire and, obviously, a section of train track that ran alongside the river.
The Flying Scotsman won in the end apparently due to “navigational difficulties experienced by the aeroplane and speed boat” which I find a little odd as they were both following the course of the river…
Anyway, now you have some context here is the video:

The locomotive in the video isn’t Flying Scotsman but is in fact a classmate. The locomotive in question is Persimmon.
Good to know! I’ll edit the article once I get home from work. Thanks!
